A Catholic community in the heart of Liverpool

We are based in the heart of Liverpool at St Philip Neri Church on Catharine Street and are here to support students and staff of Liverpool John Moores University, the University of Liverpool, and the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts on their journey of faith.

What’s on at the Chaplaincy

Details of this term's events can be found on Instagram ( liverpoolcathsoc ), Facebook (Liverpool CathChap) and on the weekly newsletter, published each week during the academic year - find the link on the tab above.

The Chaplaincy’s life and mission is to create an oasis of faith, and a home away from home, for students at the Universities - whether Catholic or just interested in our faith and community.

During term time, we have a packed schedule of social events and faith development activities, and an active Catholic Society led by students.

Highlights of the Chaplaincy year include our yearly retreat, opportunities to listen to visiting speakers, and trips across the North West.

FINDING US

The Chaplaincy is open to students of the Universities and LIPA during term time. You can find us in the heart of the Georgian Quarter, just minutes away from the main Liverpool University campus, in the University Church of St Philip Neri.
